Extension of the Digital Work Card to insurance and security companies
An announcement was posted on the website of the Ministry of Labor (https://ypergasias.gov.gr/) entitled "Extension of the Digital Labor Card to insurance and security companies".
The announcement states verbatim the following:
"On the basis of the plan already presented by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the scope of the Digital Work Card is being extended to companies providing insurance services and to companies providing guarding and protection services.
More specifically, from Thursday, February 16, 2023, the scope of application of the Digital Card mechanism includes insurance companies, whose primary or secondary Activity Number Code (A.C.D.) belongs to the four-digit "ΚΑΔ" 6622, with an obligation to take the required actions.
At the same time, from the same date, Thursday 16/2/2023, companies providing safekeeping and protection services with a primary or secondary four-digit "ΚΑΔ" will be included in the digital card regime and with the corresponding obligations 8010 and 8020. It is noted that security and protection service companies with a four-digit "ΚΑΔ" 8030 are not within the scope of the digital card.
Their inclusion is done either through the myErgani mobile app for employees, which has been upgraded to support the Digital Work Card function, and the Ergani CardScanner app for businesses that do not already have a timekeeping system, which "reads" by the start and end of work the Digital Cards of the employees and automatically transmits the information in real time to the P.S. TOOL II. The "reading" mechanism of the Digital Card is similar to the procedure followed for the "scanning" of vaccination or disease certificates during the pandemic period.
In addition, it is noted that in the near future, the Ministry will post on the digital space of PS ERGANI, for the participating companies, a relevant list of questions and answers regarding the process and the way of harmonizing the companies in the obligations of the field of the digital card".
